I have wrote that I am often inspired. Sometimes, my mind gets to being sort of.... stale. The swirly depressive pit of doom hovers near to my brain as I start to think of what it wrong in my life. THAT my readers, is when the optimist kicks it over to the nearest booksellers, buys a large, frozen, caffeinated beverage (HelLO, blogging at 11:30 at night....)whips out her notebook and picks ten or so magazines off the shelf. I do this sort of haphazardly, picking pretty much anything with the words "beach", "cottage", "paris", "closets, "photographs" or "Gisele Bundchen".
With these key words or pretty covers, I pick a variety of kinds of magazines from which I read very few actual words. Tonight, I picked up some cottage decorating magazines, some Italien living magazines, some Parisan fashion magazines, some fine arts photography and animal rescue magazines.
I write "Be Inspired" and the date on the top of my notebook page. This is for my benefit later when I compile all my artistic notes from the year into one book to look back on.
I take notes on interesting looking ads, professional bloggers, names of new artists that one magazine instructed me to "rembember", thoughts that come from looking at a photograph of something, definitions of terms, ideas for paintings, key words.
Later, I go online and look at the websites I've written down. Sometimes they are not as interesting as I hoped, but often even then they lead me to links of websites that I like better. So here's a shortened list of things that inspired me this evening.
1). atreelinedstreet.blogspot.com - Inspiring blogger who writes about homes and travels.
2). Eva Green. Look her up. I don't know why I've never heard of her, but she is perhaps on of the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. Sometimes a face really inspires. She has one of those for me, definitely.
3). "A room's best accesory is it's owner"
4). Words - Cozy, eclectic, cozy, airy.
5). I've never given much thought to drapes, but I think I will experiment with white cotton ones.
6). Channeling the beach. I didn't actually like the house that was used in this article, but I like the idea.
7). I need a stupid.
8). "Salon Wall" - from 18th Century France when artists, academics, and authors met in salons (reception halls with soaring ceilings and walls filled with mishmash artwork) to discuss philosophy and politics of the day.
9). Collect old cameras. This is something I've thought about, and I've almost purchased some but stopped because they didn't work and that disappointed me. I was reading an idea that suggests collecting something like that that exhibits your passion. THe exhibition is the artwork, not the funtional aspect of the tool.
There were so many other things that I wrote on this piece of paper. I will leave you with these thoughts, and also that I have been inspired to write more about things that inspire me. Home decoration is an ongoing project for me (as it is with everyone). I will try to write about that in particular for a while.
EDIT -
Haha. When I posted this, I re-read it and saw that I wrote I "need a stupid." I DON'T need a stupid (I'm quite good on those, thanks). I meant a studio.
