Oh, wow! A blog! Awwwe, hey, it's MY blog.
Alright, 2012, let's have it, then.
The new year has begun, and it FINALLY feels like winter. This winter, my go-to winter cheer-ups have been copious amounts of coffee and Downton Abbey. These are two addictions well worth having for the winter. And cheer-ups themselves I find are a good thing to keep handy in these dark months.
I become a little-more-obsessed-than-usual with textures in the winter. I have therefore started a texture journal. This is very hard for me - no words. Just pasting stuff I find or experience. I am only putting the dates in words. So far, this journal contains wrapping paper and gummy string. I am adding rabbit fur from the top of the new lionhead tomorrow. She has plenty and can surely spare me some.
Seriously poofy rabbit.
Enough of that, though. You can't blog texture. Not in the same way that you can record texture in an actual journal. Since it is such a positive thing for me in winter, though, I will try to add some texture photographs soon.
Of lambs wool and straw burrows and weathered skin and bumpy candles and the million different knits on my millions of sweaters and coats.
I am in nesting mode for sure. I think it might finally be time for me to learn to sew. I have, therefore, bought a couple of yards each of several different kinds of fabric. I plan to start with pillow cases. I have a not-so-small obsession with pillow cases. I don't have enough pillows to house my obsession. I don't even have that big a love for pillows. I only really use one. But pillow cases? Soft, fresh smelling, cold pillow cases? Can't get enough.
I am making four - two white ones, a very pale pink one and a very pale pink but patterned one to go with that.
No worries, I definitely have better things to be doing. I'm just need a little winter comfort [sanity] right now.
I like blogs. I think I will start blogging again - OPTIMISM THROUGH WINTER. Yeah. I like that.
Luff luff!
