Times and Circumstances

I definitely couldn't relate to or didn't understand a lot of Kala Farnham's lyrics when I first heard them, but as the years have gone by I've found more truth about myself in them than almost any other artist.
It's not ALL depressing wallowing sort of music, though you may think so at first listen. Take a moment to see if you see any of yourself in them.... http://www.kalafarnham.com
And wonder whether there's any optimism to be found for you (I have, of course).

Here's one I've been thinking of lately:

"Believe me, I've had my share of tears,
and they've taught me far too much.
They call me the girl who doesn't feel,
and I'm sorry I turned out so cold;
but I really meant it when I said that I missed you,
and I really meant it when I said that I loved you still,
and I do, I do, I do.

So I might as well sing a song inside this cell
just to astound them as my dignity is falling;
and I might as well smile inside this hell,
just to confuse them when they think my heart is drowning."
